About EssentialX
Focused apps and tools for families, schools, and work.
EssentialX builds small products that each do one job well. Some help parents follow a child's development or choose a school, others help with a job search, a tax form, or a retirement plan. Each product has its own site under essentialx.us, and this site is the front door to all of them.
Schools and education
NYC Schools brings admissions odds, test scores, demographics, zoning, and rankings for New York City public schools into one page per school. It reprocesses records from NYC DOE and NYC Open Data, and every figure links back to a cited, dated source. The NYC Schools Guide iPhone app adds saved schools and comparisons synced to your account. With Premium, it also builds a ranked MySchools application list from your address and puts tours, open houses, and admissions dates on one calendar with reminders.
